Baston
Shallow Pit
Situated on our premier complex in Langtoft Fen, Baston, The Shallow Pit is a 14-acre lake that, as it’s name suggests, is relatively shallow with average depths of just 4-5ft, going down to 6-7ft in places.
The lake holds in the region of 280 cracking, fast-growing carp from Priory Fisheries, VS and Mark Simmond’s, with a lovely mix of plain, deep-bodied mirrors, linears and scaly ones, with a good few commons too! Test fishing has been very light, but most of the fish currently seem to be in the 18-25lb bracket, although there are definitely some better ones amongst them!
A couple of winters ago, we drained the lake down and completely re-landscaped the lakebed, creating some lovely sub-surface features for anglers to fish to, as well as six small islands to break the lake up a bit and give some visual dividers for each swims’ water.
The Shallow is a booking venue whereby anglers are booking up to five double swims, meaning a maximum of ten anglers can fish the venue at any one time.
Anglers can book on Baston Shallow Pit in 48-hour slots starting on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday. To book, simply add the required date to your basket using the calendar below before proceeding with the payment.

IMPORTANT NOTICE’S
- Weekday slots are £140 per double swim, per 48-hours and weekend slots are £152 per double swim, per 48-hours.
- Anglers may arrive at the venue for 10:30am on the day of their arrival and a draw for swims will take place at 11am. Anglers must leave by 10am on their departure date.
- Any anglers booked on for longer than 48-hours, for example 96-hours, don’t have to re-draw if they don’t wish to. They can stay where they are.
- All under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
- Please familiarise yourself with the rules prior to attending site. Anyone seen to be breaking any of the rules will be asked to leave the lake without refund.
- ALL LITTER IS TO BE TAKEN HOME AND DISPOSED OF RESPONSIBLY. ANY ANGLERS LEAVING LITTER ON SITE WILL NOT BE WELCOME BACK.
- Please note, all landing nets, unhooking mats and weigh slings are provided at the fishery so please DO NOT use your own. You will need to bring carp care liquid with you though.
- Please note, there is no running water or electricity on-site so make sure you bring your own water and power packs etc.
